This work is deeply personal to me.

My father served with the King’s Own Scottish Borderers, was awarded the Queen’s Commendation, and I was born in a military hospital. I grew up in a military family, surrounded by the values of service, loyalty, discipline, humour, and quiet resilience, the kind of values that stay with you for life.

Today, Kim and I are proud signatories of the Armed Forces Covenant through The Manse Retreat, formalising our commitment to supporting serving personnel, veterans, and their families. For us, this is not a marketing statement. It reflects who we are, where we come from, and the people we care deeply about.

I am also an honorary member of Folkestone Veterans Breakfast Club and a proud supporter of Veterans United Against Suicide.

We understand that the impact of service does not always end when the uniform comes off. For many veterans, some of the hardest battles begin after service, often quietly, privately, and without wanting to burden anyone else.

At The Manse Retreat, we want to give something back in a way that genuinely helps. That is why we personally fund a veteran’s first Manse Method® session, so they can experience the work without money being the first barrier.

This first session is offered at no cost to the veteran, not because the work has little value, but because we believe those who have served should have the opportunity to experience something that may genuinely help them move forward.

The Manse Method® is specialist, high-value work. Every veteran we have worked with has recognised the depth and value of the session once they have experienced it.

After the first funded session, any further sessions are chargeable at our standard session rate. This allows us to continue offering this work sustainably, while still making an initial session accessible to veterans who may need support.

There is no pressure, no judgement, and no need to talk through the past. The first session is simply an opportunity to experience The Manse Method® and discover whether it can help you release the emotional weight of what is behind you, so you can move forward with greater strength, clarity, and peace.

This offer is given with respect, gratitude, and clear boundaries, because we believe in supporting veterans, and we also believe in valuing the work properly.

TESTIMONIALS

I trusted Carl from the onset. He knew about military environments and certainly swore more than me.

I have suffered terrible flashbacks for over 10 years. Kept seeing dead bodies and not being able to change the memories in my mind.

In only one session, I can no longer get the images back that used to haunt me. Not bad for tapping your face.

Get to work with this man; he will change the shit in your head.

The session was great, and I felt an immediate impact; my PTSD symptoms are so much better. I can now feel like I can have a normal life; the results are fantastic.

Carl was great, so easy to talk to, and very knowledgeable in the whole area of trauma and PTSD.

What can I say? This man is a legend. Initially, I thought it was all a bunch of nonsense. Seen his videos on YouTube.

My wife said, What have you got to lose? The banter was excellent and made me feel at ease.

I can't explain what happened, even when he tells you what's going on in the brain.

All I care about is that I don't feel like killing myself. The horrors in my mind have gone. No matter how hard I try, I just can't get the images back.
