1. What makes The Manse Retreat different?
The Manse Retreat is a completely private, one-to-one experience designed around you. Unlike group retreats, you’ll work directly with us throughout your stay using a structured and personalised approach.
At the centre of this is The Manse Method®, a non-talking approach to emotional trauma and PTSD, focused on changing how experiences feel, not just understanding them.
The aim is simple: to help things shift in a way that feels real and lasting.
2. Will I be sharing the retreat with anyone else?
No.
Your retreat is entirely private, and we work with one guest at a time to ensure you have our full attention. If you wish, you’re welcome to bring a friend or family member for support (subject to availability).
3. Do I have to talk about what happened?
No.
Our approach does not require you to talk through traumatic memories in detail. We focus on changing how those experiences feel, rather than revisiting everything that happened.
4. How does The Manse Method® work?
The Manse Method® is a practical, psycho-sensory approach based on how the brain processes emotional experiences. It uses simple, guided processes to help reduce the emotional charge linked to memories, without needing to relive them.
You don’t just understand the change, you feel it.
5. What happens during the 3 days?
Your retreat is structured across three days, with a clear focus on preparation, transformation, and integration.
The second day includes two extended one-to-one sessions focused on helping you change how specific experiences feel.
Alongside this, we guide you through supporting elements designed to help you feel relaxed, safe, and able to engage fully in the process. No two retreats are exactly the same, we adapt the experience around you.
6. Do you provide support after the retreat?
Yes.
After your stay, you’ll receive structured follow-up support, including guided materials, a hypnosis recording, and a follow-up transformation call around six weeks later.
This helps reinforce the changes and ensures you’re not navigating things alone.
7. Can I book directly online?
No.
We begin with a short discovery call to ensure this is the right fit for you and that you feel comfortable with how we work. It also gives you the opportunity to ask questions and understand what to expect before making a decision.
8. Where are you based?
We’re based in a quiet village in Northamptonshire, UK.
Full details are provided once your retreat is confirmed.
We can also arrange collection from nearby train stations if needed.
9. What is the environment like?
The Manse is our home, and the environment is designed to feel calm, private, and removed from everyday life.
Many people comment on the sense of quiet and safety they feel here, something that plays an important role in allowing things to shift.
10. Do you cater for dietary requirements?
Yes.
Meals are prepared by Kim, a qualified nutritional therapist, and can be adapted to suit your individual dietary needs.
11. What if I’ve already tried other approaches?
Many of the people who come to us have already tried other forms of support. What they often tell us is that while they understood things differently, the way it felt didn’t change. That’s where this approach is different.
